Your role
There are many ways in which parents can take part in making the Pre-School a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents, such as:
- exchanging knowledge about their children’s needs, activities, interests and progress with the staff
- contributing to the progress check at age two
- helping at sessions in the setting
- sharing their own special interests with the children
- helping to provide, make and look after the equipment and materials used in the children’s play activities
- being part of the management of the setting
- taking part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum provided by the setting
- joining in community activities in which the setting takes part
- building friendships with other parents in the setting.

Parents Evenings
Parents Evening Dates
Autumn Term : Tuesday 26 October 2026
Summer Term : Tuesday 23 March 2027
We have decided not to hold a parents evening in the Spring term. We will have the October one as a settling in/settling back consultation and the March one will identify anything we need to specifically work on during the Summer term. We will, of course, still be available to discuss any concerns you, or we, may have throughout the year.
Fees
The fees are £7 per hour, payable half-termly in advance. We offer the 30 hours extended funding for those who are eligible.
Fees must still be paid if children are absent without notice for a short period of time. If your child has to be absent over a long period of time please talk to Nicky Lovegrove, the Manager.
For your child to keep her/his place at the setting, you must pay the fees. We are in receipt of nursery education funding for two, three and four year olds; where funding is not received, then the standard fees apply.
We require half a term’s notice, in writing, to relinquish a child’s place at our Pre-school.

If eligible, all our hours of opening can be accessed through the funded entitlement up to a maximum of 30 hours per week, any hours over this will be charged at £7 per hour.
We do not offer stand-alone afternoon sessions, just morning (to 12.15) or extended sessions and you choose your child’s collection time.
If you do not need to take advantage of the early drop off, please ensure that children are dropped off at 9.15 so we can begin our daily programme promptly.
